September 14th - Morning Market Commentary

Grains are higher in overnight trading:

Dec Corn + 3 ¼  cents/bu (5.16 ½  )

Nov Soybeans + 6 ½ cents/bu (12.91 ¼ )

Dec Chi Wheat + 9 ½ cents/bu (6.96 ½ )

Cdn $ +0.00100 (79.04 cents)

WTI Crude Oil +0.34/barrel (70.79)

Grains are solidly higher this morning as end users look at the recent break in prices as an opportunity to get some more coverage on.  Later this morning, Statistics Canada will release their production numbers for Canada, which could influence grain markets significantly (particularly wheat and soyoil futures).

5 or 12 Gulf grain elevators are now operational, which should allow some resumption of export shipping.

December corn and November soybean futures have bounced higher off of their 200 day moving averages (5.05/bu for corn and 12.62/bu for soybeans) which is technically positive for grains.
