Grain Elevator Operator
Job description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grain Elevator Operator to join our team. As a Grain Elevator Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the grain elevator, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of grain products.
Duties include
- Operate grain elevator equipment, including conveyors, scales, and grain dryers
- Load and unload trucks and rail cars using a forklift or other equipment
- Monitor grain quality and perform necessary tests to ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Sanitize equipment and maintain cleanliness of the facility
- Fabricate and repair equipment as needed
- Label grain products for storage or shipment
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on machinery
- Keep accurate records of inventory and grain transactions
Requirements for the position
- Previous experience in Agriculture or grain industry is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment
- Basic math skills for inventory management and record keeping
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and climbing
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
