In an effort to retain quality, Wanstead was accepting new crop wheat at up to 17% moisture with no drying charges, only shrinkage being applied, IF it was a grade 2! This was regardless if you were planting double-crop soybeans or not!

As an aside, many producers are aware that there are significant differences between different elevators on how shrinkage is calculated. Wanstead has among the lowest shrinkage charges in the industry, while some local competitor’s shrinkage rates are MUCH higher.
