Grains are mixed in overnight trading:
Corn – 1 ¾ cents/bu (Dec @ 3.68 )
Soybeans + 4 ¾ cents/bu (Nov @ 10.08)
Chi Wheat -3 ½ cents/bu (Dec @ 5.42 ¼ )
Cdn $ +0.00160 (76.045 cents)
WTI Crude Oil +0.55/barrel (37.81)
As expected, grain futures have traded both sides of unchanged overnight. However, soybeans have managed to trade higher, as they did not spend too much time in negative territory last night. Support for beans is coming from the 2% drop in soybean good/excellent ratings in yesterday’s USDA Crop Condition Report. Also supportive is rumors from last night that China might have been in for as much as 7 to 10 cargoes of soybeans yesterday. Trade will be looking for a USDA flash sale confirmation this morning.
Otherwise, a quiet morning for grain news. USA Midwest weather looks dry through the balance of September, with no threatening temperatures.
